A pneumatic air filter unit is a device that removes air contaminants from a compressed air stream. This can be done using several different techniques, from using a “media” type that traps particulates but allows air to pass through to a venturi, to a membrane that only allows air to pass through.
A pneumatic filter should be the first component at the inlet of most air circuits. Air from the compressor contains dust from the ambient atmosphere, condensed water, and rust and oil sludge that bypass the compressor rings.
